UMD Women’s Hockey Reflects on Strong First Half of Season

UMD is currently second in the WCHA standings and 4th in the pairwise.

DULUTH, Minn.- The first half of the season is officially in the books for the 4th ranked UMD women’s hockey team.

Just this past weekend, the Bulldogs closed out their final series of 2024 by tying once and winning the other against 8th ranked St. Cloud State.

UMD is currently second in the WCHA standings and 4th in the pairwise.

With the new year just weeks away, Head Coach Laura Schuler touched on some resolutions for her team heading into the 2nd half of the season.

“Well defensive and offensively. Offensively continuing to, I feel like we play a little bit too perimeter so we have to continue to work inside, you know the dot lines there all over the ice. And then defensively there is some things we did tweak with our system and I thought we did an okay job with it. We still need to be better with it,” said Schuler.

UMD’s next action will come on January 2nd in a rescheduled series from earlier in the season at home against Syracuse University.
