Young Entrepreneurs Showcase Products

DULUTH, Minn. – Young entrepreneurs bring their products public, at a showcase in Duluth’s Hillside neighborhood.

The Family Freedom Center hosted an event Monday, to allow local kids a chance to showcase their self-made products. Their families, friends, and the public could purchase hand-made jewelry, cosmetics, smoothies, sweet treats and more.

Located at the Washington Center in Duluth’s Hillside neighborhood, the Family Freedom Center works to foster career and business skills in the broader community. Along with offering knowledge and guidance, the center has built resources like a recording studio and salon to build members’ experience with technical and trade skills.

“Today is really about celebrating our young entrepreneurs,” said the center’s Executive Director Jacob Bell. He said that the goal of the program is to “help youth explore their passions and their crafts and to create things with their hands, but most importantly, learning how to sell those things, how to market them, and how to build a business for themselves.

The center says it is seeking professionals with a skill or trade that they would like to share with others. Those interested in volunteering can reach out through their website.
