Thousands Take In The ‘Christmas City Express’

DULUTH, Minn. — The Christmas City Express performances and train rides finished up this weekend at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

More than 5,000 people attended the story performance over the past month, which includes a train ride on the North Shore Scenic Railroad.

It’s an important event to the museum, with the annual tradition putting smiles on kids of all ages, while also helping with much needed funds to support the museum.

The story is a locally produced book, about a young girl riding a train to visit her grandparents on Christmas, and the train gets stuck in a snowstorm.

She and the conductor save Christmas for everyone and even Santa gets in on the fun.

Although the train rides on the North Shore Scenic Railroad are about to hibernate for winter, the Lake Superior Railroad Museum puts on other events like Jazz performances every Saturday all winter long.
