Lake Superior Zoo Worker Spots Owl Stuck In Car’s Grill At Bentleyville

DULUTH, Minn. — What was supposed to be a stroll through Bentleyville Tour of Lights in Bayfront Festival Park Monday evening turned into quite the rescue of an owl. Owl 4

Owner 7Annabell Whelan, guest experience manager at the Lake Superior Zoo, spotted the owl stuck in the grill of someone’s car in Bayfront parking lot as she was leaving Bentleyville.

Whelan said the owl is “having a sleepover and then going to Wildwoods tomorrow right away when they open. Send him good healing thoughts.”

It was one eventful day for Whelan because, believe it or not, she said she rescued a great gray owl in Two Harbors earlier Monday and took it to Wildwood before it was transferred to the Raptor Center.

“It has been a VERY eventful day to say the least,” Whelan told FOX 21.
