Chester Creek Books and Antiques Under New Ownership

DULUTH, Minn. — Chester Creek Books is under new ownership.

This hidden gem in sits in an old church on Superior St. and 14th Ave. East.

Largely, the store will be the same, with used books and antiques for sale.

The new owner plans to continue working with the previous owner to run the shop.

What will change, is how they approach their presence in the community.

“We have the farmers market a block away. Every Saturday and Wednesday during the summer and I would love to partner with them and have people just say ‘oh lets stop at the bookstore too’ when they go to the famers market. And I want that to be a part of it and then also this space itself is quite vast and it could be reorganized. So there’s rooms for community events and music and art opening and poetry readings, all sorts of things could happen here.” – Tina Higgins Wussow, Owner

As of now, they note that a lot of their business comes from out of town, because people find them through search engines.

Most locals tend to overlook them, though, and that is what they are hoping to change.
