Big Turnout for Bentleyville Tear Down Volunteers
DULUTH, Minn.– The Bentleyville cleanup crew is moving at lightspeed to tear down its holiday display.
With more than 40 volunteers helping on Monday morning, Bentleyville is seeing a record turn out with helpers.
The tear down process began on Sunday, and by 11 AM the following day, all of the bigger tunnels had already been taken down.
For one of the volunteers, after attending the light display for many years, she decided it was time to lend a helping hand.
“I saw a sign, there was a sign somewhere in Bentleyville that said, that was kind of a joke I think, but it was like ‘average number of people volunteering’ and it said 7. And I was like wow, there must be a lot of work that goes into this. So, I wanted to see what it was all about. Like actually taking a part in this whole operation,” said Soren Hedegaard, one of the volunteers.
Nathan Bentley, the Mayor of Bentleyville told FOX 21 that if this support continues, they could be done with the tear down by the end of this week.
