Wired Whisker – 6 months in business

Duluth, Minn — Wired Whisker has also been busy finding new homes for cats.

By partnering with Pet Haven, Carlton County Humane Society, and Animal Allies, they’ve adopted out 85 cats to forever homes since they opened their doors 6 months ago.

They have become a centerpiece for the community.

Many people choose to celebrate birthdays there, visitors from assisted living groups have come to give a feline a hug.

Still others have come in just to see the kitty’s and sip on coffee.

“So, it’s really fun when folks come in, and at first sometimes you have people like wait are there actually cats here? you know, or they are just expecting cats to kind of be free roaming, and so it’s fun to get to communicate to folks the mission behind why we are here. Which is of course helping find loving homes for cats in need. Providing that extension of space for rescues in the areas that are doing their best and overburdened with all of these kitties that need our help.” – Misha Smith, Owner.

As for the future, they are hoping to use their patio space more and build on the relationships with their adoption partners, and the community at large.

They may even add a “Catio” expansion for kitty lounge events.
