UMD Men’s Basketball Set to Face St. Cloud State for First Home Game of 2025

The Bulldogs are currently 9-5 on the year.

DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD men’s basketball team is back on home court as they welcome in St. Cloud State University on Saturday.

After picking up two conference wins after their holiday break, UMD is currently 9-5 on the year.

In the Bulldogs last two games their play on the defensive end of the court has been a part of their success.

Another tough conference opponent this weekend for the Bulldogs as they host St. Cloud who is currently 10-7.

UMD will take what they learned from the first half of the season to build momentum for the second half of their schedule.

“It was a great way to kind of kick off the second half. We talked a lot about learning our lessons from the first half and hopefully getting on a run here. Those two wins at Northern and at Moorhead were huge for us and hopefully we can keep it going this weekend,” said head coach Justin Wieck. “Every opponent is tough in our league. It’s kind of the next one for us. St. Cloud is really big and physical, again we have to continue to play that way on the defensive end and continue to find ways to get guys the ball in certain spots where they can be successful.”

Tip off between the Bulldogs and Huskies is Saturday at 3 p.m.
