Inmates Wanted For The ‘Folsom Prison Experience’ At The DECC Jan. 18

DULUTH, Minn. – If you like the music of Johnny Cash and want to feel what it’s like to be behind bars, the “Folsom Prison Experience” is the place to be this Saturday at the DECC.’

The live musical immerses you in the unforgettable atmosphere of the legendary 1968 Johnny Cash show at Folsom Prison, where the spirit of that historic day springs to life.

When you arrive at the DECC’s Symphony Hall, you’ll instantly be transformed into an inmate.  Folsom Prison Experience

So, yes, if you want to go all out and get in costume as a bad guy, you are encouraged because you’ll experience the tensions as the watchful warden and his guards maintain order within the prison walls.

“We studied extensively the day that Johnny Cash played at Folsom Prison, what went on in his head what was going on in real life, and we incorporated that into the show, so the audience gets to see what it was like on that day in 1968 when Johnny Cash played at the show. Now, we not only do we have Johnny Cash, we have the Statler Brothers on stage, we have June Carter, and we have the emcee of the night. There’s guards. So when I say you, as an audience member, are now an inmate there, we wanted to make you feel like you are at that concert in 1968,” said Jay Ernest, star of the “Folsom Prison Experience.”

The “Folsom Prison Experience” takes the stage at the DECC this Saturday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.  Doors open at 7 p.m.  Tickets are under $60.
