Extreme Cold Forces Mobile Pantries To Postpone
DULUTH, Minn.– Due to the extreme cold, staff at Second Harvest Northland had to make a tough decision to reschedule some programs.
The Marble and Marcell mobile pantries with Second Harvest Northland will both be rescheduled to Wednesday January 29th.
Marble will have their Mobile Food Pantry at 10:00 AM, and Marcell’s will take place at 1:30 PM.
The decision was made to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
That being said, for those relying on this service, there is a solution.
“So certainly, we always when we’re thinking about inclement weather closure, we’re being mindful that people still need food access. So, they can go to ‘Find Food’ and make sure they know where other places are open. But it’s really important also that we’re thinking about volunteers that come out,” said Shaye Moris, President and CEO of Second Harvest Northland.
Through the Mobile Pantry Program, Second Harvest Northland is able to provide food access to 15 counties and nearly 30 communities across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
