Skiers and Snowboarders Brave the Cold

DULUTH, Minn. — With frigid cold temperatures upon us, skiers and snowboarders are taking extra precautions on the slopes.

Although Saturday was the warmest of a four day long cold stretch, those at Spirit Mountain layered up to shred down the hills.

A pair of snowboarding brothers who grew up on the slopes said the cold is nothing to mess around with and to make sure you’re covered head to toe.

The brothers also said heated vests are gamechangers and even keep you warm while on the chair lift.

“Basically just in and out, two to three runs, go warm up. two to three runs, do it again. No exposed skin,” said snowboarder Jordan Risse.

As temps plunge further below zero the next few days, people are encouraged to stay warm and to bundle up when outside.
