Lake Superior Ice Festival Looks to Have a Chill 10th Year

SUPERIOR, Wis. —  With the weather in the 20s this weekend the Lake Superior Ice Festival is all set for their 10th year.

Festivities started Friday night with the festivals annual Guns N’ Hoses Kubb Showdown. New this year is a Polar Ice Sculpture Trolley Tour & Dinner, which tickets were sold out.

Saturday they have a whole day of activities that is fun for the whole family.

“We have disc golf, we have kubb, we have mini golf, we have corn hole, lots of activities this evening with food trucks and stuff down here,” said Jodi Saylor, the volunteer, event and program coordinator. “And then tomorrow, all of our events will be here, all of our activities. We have some new ones. We have snow. Got yoga in the snow. We have dog sled rides that we just added so you can come ride some dog sled rides, and then we have ice bowling as our newest one.”

The two-day ice festival is taking place at Baker’s Island until 8 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
