Northwoods School Bus Accident Sends Two Students To The Hospital

 

COOK, Minn. — A bus crash sent two students to the hospital this morning after the school bus landed in a ditch.

Img 7735At around 8:12 a.m. on Jan. 29, emergency services responded to a report of a single school bus accident on Olsen Rd. E. near the Northwoods School.

The school bus slid off the road, struck two trees, and finally came to a stop against a light pole. On board were the bus driver and 31 students, two of which were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the accident, with the icy conditions believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.

Minnesota State Patrol, MN DNR, Cook Fire and EMS, Orr EMS, and Virginia Fire and EMS all assisted with the scene.

The school day continued as scheduled.Img 2639
