UMD Women’s Basketball Set to Host 2nd Seeded Concordia-St. Paul
UMD will look to go 5-0 at home against the Golden Bears.
DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD women’s basketball team already had one game this week.
That was Wednesday night when they fell in a close contest to Winona State, 57 to 53.
Now, they turn their attention to a Concordia-St. Paul squad that’s currently 2nd in the NSIC standings.
UMD will try to hold on to an unbeaten 4-0 record at home against the Golden Bears.
Head Coach Mandy Pearson says they put a huge emphasis on defense when game planning for Concordia
“Concordia is really athletic, really really athletic. So we need to be incredibly sharp on defense because they have one through five at all times on the floor can have success offensively, they can score. So they have a lot of weapons and we’ve got to be ready and sharp and anticipating on defense. Then offensively, the ball needs to really move a little bit more than it has been because they can guard us one on one,” said Pearson.
UMD is looking to salvage the series split this Saturday at 3:00 PM.
