Duluth Denfeld Boys Basketball Heating Up in Second Half of the Season

The Hunters have won six of their last seven games.

DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Denfeld boys basketball team has started to heat up in the last half of the season.

The Hunters have won six of their last seven games.

Duluth Denfeld is currently 10-and-7 on the season with their latest win coming against Chisago Lakes, where Denfeld won 82-68.

The Hunters have been on the road for their last three games and that will continue as they face Rock Ridge on Tuesday.

A reason for the Hunters success is their ability to control the paint and the teams focus.

“I think what’s been working is our size. A lot of people coming into games, their mindset is we have to stop Ferguson, we have to stop Ferguson. But at the same time, we have like two or three big guys that can score inside basically against anybody,” said head coach Phillip Homere. “It’s been fun knowing that everybody’s buying in, everybody’s focused and understand what it takes to win, so that’s been fun to watch.”

For senior guard Marnaries Ferguson, staying together as a team through the ups and downs has helped in their accomplishments.

“In practice, teamwork and just building each other up in practice and just doing that it correlates to the game when we play against the other team,” said Ferguson. “I feel like we’re just growing through aspects of each game when we play them.”

The Hunters tip-off with Rock Ridge Tuesday at 7:15.
