Splash Pad in the Works at the Wade Bowl Park
SUPERIOR, Wis.– Despite it being very chilly outside the City of Superior is already thinking ahead to some exciting summer plans.
Alongside the playground and ice rink at the Wade Bowl Park, the city of Superior is welcoming in a splash pad.
With the water play area, they’re looking forward to bringing in some summer fun to the Superior neighborhood.
The splash pad can be enjoyed by both kids and adults.
As for the water, it will also include a bioretention area to collect rainwater supporting the mission of an eco-friendly park.
“Everybody is able to use it, all abilities and all ages. And we’re used to providing access to the water. We have a lot of shorelines in superior, we have a lot of beaches. And people in Superior are used to using them. But not every neighborhood does have access to that especially if they can’t drive there. And so, we’re going to bring water to a neighborhood that really doesn’t have it,” said Superior Mayor Jim Paine.
The City of Superior is hoping to start construction this fall.
They opened the floor for the community to give ideas for the splash pad and how it can serve them best.
