Duluth Police Investigating After MCCU Card Skimming Incident
DULUTH, Minn. — The Duluth Police Department is investigating after customers at Members Cooperative Credit Union have reported card fraud with the use of a skimmer.
The credit union reports that less than 100 members were impacted by the incident.
The DPD is encouraging any victims of the fraud to call the credit union to report it at 800-296-8871.
A skimmer is a card reading device that can be disguised to look like a part of an ATM or point of sale terminal.
While it is currently unknown where the device was placed, the credit union is working with members who have been impacted.
To avoid a skimming scam, the DPD encourages people to tap your card instead of swiping or inserting it if possible
