Cody Buus Invitational Courage Snowmobile Ride

ISLAND LAKE, Minn. — In just over a week Snowmobile riders will be getting out for a good cause.

The Cody Buus Invitational Courage Snowmobile Ride sets out on February 20th, and they’ll return on the 22nd.

Riders will start at Island Lake inn, go out to Fortune Bay and then return to Island Lake inn.

This is the first ride, but there’s plans to keep it going.

This year they have about 70 riders, and 34 sponsors.

All the money raised will go to help local families.

“This is a charity ride to raise money for local families and children with life threatening diseases. We are concentrating on the four locals of the local people, raising local money through local businesses for local recipients. 100% of our money stays within 100-mile radius.” said John Archer, Co-Founder of the Cody Buus Invitational Courage Ride.

This year they are looking to raise money for a student on the Duluth East Dance Team with cancer and a 4-year-old from Hermantown with liver cancer.

Saturday the 22nd there will be a check presentation to the two families.

After that, funds stay local in the Northern Lights foundation.
