Hermantown Boys Hockey to Close Out Regular Season Against Grand Rapids
Hermantown and Grand Rapids face-off on Tuesday night.
HERMANTOWN, Minn. -The Hermantown Hawks is looking to get back on track before the postseason as they welcome in a tough 7AA opponent in Grand Rapids.
Hermantown is trying to break a three-game skid with their last loss coming against Benilde-St. Margaret’s in a heartbreaking ending as the Red Knights scored two quick goals late in the third period.
No easy test against Grand Rapids as they made the state tournament last season.
For the Hawks, they understand that there are learning lessons in every regular season game and it’s all part of the process leading up to the playoffs.
“We talk all the time that it’s about the process, and not necessarily the outcome and the outcomes along the way. Twenty-five lessons throughout the season to be ready for playoffs. We have been tested, we have learned some lessons, positive and negative. With our schedule we’re not going to win them all, and that’s ok, because you learn from adversity,” said head coach Patrick Andrews.
For Senior Captain River Freeman, he has confidence that the team will get back on track before the playoffs.
“Obviously we had our ups and downs. It’s towards the end of the year we’re figuring it out and I have full confidence in these guys that we will be find the rest of the way,” said Freeman. ” I think they got it all figured out and we will be rolling the next two games going into the playoffs.”
