Urbane 218 Set to Open this Fall, New Restaurant Planned to Open on First Floor
DULUTH, Minn. — A new restaurant space is looking to move into an developing apartment complex in Duluth’s Lincoln Park.
After a few delays, construction has picked up as schedule at Urbane 218. The site looks to house 45-units with space on the first floor for a new restaurant to lease out.
Merge Urbane Development, the project’s developer, has experienced setback since they started the project in 2023. At first the company said they had to wait for a loan to pass from their agreed financing package. Then the building sat unattended for months as Merge look for a new building partner.
After two separate inspections of the unattended site, construction restarted this last October.
“So we had two different parties come and test the structural integrity and everything came back past with and everything came back, passed with flying colors,” said Brent Dahlstrom, of Merge Development. “We do have a first floor space that we currently are working with a restaurant tenant on. That’s really the hope, we’ll have a restaurant on the first floor.”
Urbane 218 is set to open by Oct. 31 of this year. Merge said they hope to open up closer to late-summer.
