Nearly 700 brave souls registered for this year’s Duluth Polar Plunge at the end of Park Point in the Superior Bay, raising $143,000.

In the plunge’s 25-year history, locals have raised more than $3 million for the cause.

The Duluth Police Department organizes the plunge every year, and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad is always suited up in the water to help plungers gain their composure and get out of the cold water.
