SUPERIOR, Wis. – A challenger has emerged in the race for Superior’s 2nd District.
In the usually quite political environment of Superior, challengers have appeared in some of the 2025 municipal elections.
Councilor Jenny Van Sickle has represented Superior’s 2nd District since 2017 and now faces a challenge from first-time candidate Sarah Anderson.
Anderson is a mental health professional for St. Louis County and is a resident of District 2 with her husband and children.
Van Sickle, also a resident of District 2, is married to Superior Mayor Jim Paine and serves as the chair of the Public Works Committee.
Both shared their thoughts on the upcoming election, and their stance on topics such as the replacement of lead water pipes, private utilities, housing and childcare.
