UMD’S Clara Van Wieren Named Finalist for the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup Award
The winner of the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup award will be announced April 25th.
DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD women’s hockey forward Clara Van Wieren has been named a finalist for the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup award.
The Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup award honors student athletes that have good character, teamwork and citizenship within the community.
Van Wieren is one of six finalists selected for the honor.
Off the ice, Van Wieren is the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Co-president of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council at UMD.
During Van Wieren’s time with SAAC, she has built a partnership with Food Forward, which is a local non-profit that provides meals for low-income families.
The winner of the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup award will be announced April 25th.
