Gov. Evers Discusses Budget Plans in Superior

SUPERIOR, Wis. –Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers made a visit to Superior Monday, discussing his plans to lower costs for Wisconsinites and working families.

In a roundtable discussion at Thirsty Pagan, Evers highlighted his new efforts to lower every day, out-of-pocket costs, including providing nearly $2 billion in tax relief.

Superior officials and other community members met with the governor to share their views on the proposal.

The proposed cuts would reduce the cost of child care, lower the price of prescriptions and eliminate sales tax on basic family needs.

“$2 Billion, that’s a huge cut, and it’s enough of an arena that everybody will be helping. So we think it gives us a balance. So, I didn’t hear any pushback here and now I did hear to make sure that we get our budget passed around somethings, around our schools and we’re going to work as hard as we can,” Gov. Evers said.

Evers also made a stop in Wausau earlier in the day. The visits come one week after the governor delivered his budget message for 2025 through 2027. The budget also includes efforts to hold the line on property taxes
