Fentanyl found during traffic stop in Carlton County

CARLTON COUNTY, Minn. — Carlton County Deputies say they found nearly half a pound of suspected Fentanyl under the hood of a car during a traffic stop on Thursday.

The sheriff’s office was informed by other law enforcement officers to be on the lookout for a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Johnny Glendale Williams.

According to the charges, Deputies learned there was an active narcotics investigation into Williams., and that he was in the process of returning to Duluth after a trip to the Twin Cities.

When he was pulled over a K-9 alerted deputies to the front grill area. There, they found a sock filled with packages of fentanyl in the vehicle’s air intake, according to court documents.

Williams was charged today in court.
