Northland College Cancels 2025 Softball Season

With the closure, a number of players elected to leave the team, making it hard for them to fill a full roster.

ASHLAND, Wis.- It’s been six days since Northland College announced they will be closing their doors following the 2024 and 2025 school year.

Now, one of their spring sports teams has been forced to cancel their season.

The Lumberjill softball team will not compete this upcoming spring.

With the closure, a number of players elected to leave the team, making it hard for them to fill a full roster.

Athletic Director Dan Schumacher released a statement thanking coach Dana Wiezorek and the current student-athletes that stayed in hopes of getting the chance to play.
