Duluth Salvation Army Food Drive Beginning Soon

DULUTH, Minn.– Starting March 1st, the Duluth Salvation Army donations will be proportionally matched by the Minnesota Food Share Program.

They’re looking to collect the usual shelf stable items.

The Duluth Salvation Army is the only location in the state that has a medical food shelf for special diets.

During the drive, they’re hoping to get foods that are gluten free, sugar free, as well as protein shakes and powders.

“For our medical food shelf, we had about 30 families. And now we actually have a client who’s ten. So, it goes from 10 to 80 however old you are, and you need those specific things. Whether you’re having a surgery and have a specific need or a common condition,” said Cyndi Lewis, Community Engagement Director at Duluth Salvation Army.

Food donations can be made in person or mailed at their location on South 27th Avenue in Lincoln Park.

Credit card donations can be done over the phone or online on their website.
