Hibbing/Chisholm Preaching Skill & Speed Heading Into State Tournament
Puck drop between the Cardinals and Bluejackets is set for 6 PM on Wednesday night.
HIBBING, Minn.- The Hibbing/Chisholm boys hockey team is less than 24 hours away from taking the ice at the Xcel Energy Center in their first state tournament since 2011.
The Bluejackets will match up with a Luverne squad that’s had plenty of experience at state in recent years.
As the Cardinals are in the tourney for the 2nd time in three years.
The two teams shared a few common opponents with the most notable one being C-E-C.
Hibbing/Chisholm took two out of three from the Lumberjacks and the Cardinals dropped their lone contest to C-E-C.
Defenseman Whitaker Rewertz detailed what it’s going to take for the Bluejackets to go far in the tourney.
“I think we need to play a similar game like we did today (last Wednesday). Play hard and fast, use our skill and speed. I think we can succeed at the state tournament if we can manage to do that,” said Rewertz.
