Three UWS Women’s Basketball Players Earn UMAC Postseason Awards

UWS will face Whitman in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, March 7th. 

SUPERIOR, Wis.- Three UWS women’s basketball players earned UMAC conference honors on Wednesday.

Senior Elise Besonen was named first team All-UMAC and Junior Elsa Olson earned All-UMAC honorable mention.

Besonen and Olson played a key role in the Yellowjackets UMAC Championship victory over Northwestern, where UWS won 53 to 47.

On the other end of the floor, MyKenzie Leccia was named the UMAC defensive player of the year.

Leccia recorded ten blocks and 39 steals in her junior year.

UWS will face Whitman in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, March 7th.
