Lake Superior Warriors Hockey Hosts End of Year Fundraiser

SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Lake Superior Warriors held its end of the year fundraiser on Saturday.

Founded six years ago, Lake Superior Warriors is an ice hockey team dedicated to supporting wounded, injured and disabled military veterans.

The program is entirely funded through donations from private donors, local businesses and charitable foundations.

After wrapping up its 6th year, the organization hosted a fundraiser, supporting financial costs through a silent auction, a raffle and donations.

“The Lake Superior Warriors is a local non-profit that aims to help and rehabilitate military veterans by using hockey as a conduit for therapy, to help then get through either physical or mental disabilities that they may have incurred during their time in the service,” Matt Caple, Lake Superior Warriors Co-founder said.

To participate in USA Disabled Hockey events, skaters must be or have been members of the armed forces.
