Green Mill Offers Walleye Menu for Lent
DULUTH, Minn. — Last week was the first Friday of lent, and while many adjust their diets for the next six Fridays, local restaurants are hoping to reel in customers with meat alternatives.
Green Mill in Canal Park will be featuring fresh walleye dishes for a limited time through Easter.
Kitchen staff have been preparing for the last few weeks to make sure they can handle their popular limited menu. The restaurant is bringing back their ‘Bang Bang Walleye Bites,’ Parmesan Walleye Sandwich, and a Kabeelo Lodge Walleye entree.
Restaurant staff say that the walleye menu is a hit, even with their staff.
“As soon as it comes out, people be like ‘Oh, the walleye is out,” said Riley Sausman, the dining room manager. “We have a couple of walleye items that stay on our menu year-round and we have loads of people all the time say we come here just for your walleye sandwich.”
All of Green Mill’s fresh walleye is caught fresh from Canada. This year the restaurant chain is offering a chance to win a free fishing trip for 2 at a lodge in Ontario. More detail can be found here.
Green Mill closes at 11 p.m. every night. All main menu items available until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
