State Girls Basketball: West Central Holds Off Cromwell-Wright in Class A Quarterfinals, Rock Ridge in Consolation Title Game

Cromwell-Wright will next face Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in the consolation semifinals on Friday.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Cromwell-Wright girls basketball team made their first state tournament appearance since 2020 on Thursday.

Playing West Central Area in the Class A Quarterfinals, the Cardinals came close to taking down the 4th seed, but they ultimately fall to the Knights 61 to 54.

Remington Olesiak had a team-leading 19 points in the contest.

Cromwell-Wright now heads into consolation play. They’ll next face Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at 10 AM on Friday.

In other state girls basketball action, Rock Ridge defeated Monticello 52-50 in the consolation AAA semifinals.

They’ll face DeLaSalle in the consolation title game on Friday at 4 PM.
