Proctor Middle & Highschool Transforms Library Space

PROCTOR, Minn.– For over a decade, what is now the Cultural Event Center and Library was dormant.

But now, Proctor Schools is finally unveiling a brand-new space for students and staff to enjoy.

The new library was a two-year long project, and it solves issues related to spacing.

Community members, staff and faculty pitched in both money and hundreds of hours to help put it all together.

The wall on the cutural center side of the room was painted by retired Proctor art teacher Barb Steen.

The principal of the school is just thankful that students can have a place to hang out and relax.

“I think it’s crucial. You know, I think kids need spaces where they can relax, do their homework, do group work together. We have classrooms that are visiting all the time. We have certainly scheduled for that where classes can go do their instruction in the library. We have so many things it’s used for throughout the day,” said John Aswumb, the Proctor Middle School Principal.

The new library gives the school the ability to will also host board meetings, alongside other events.
