Schuler Proud of First Year as UMD Head Women’s Hockey Coach
The Bulldogs went 22-15-2 and made a national tournament appearance.
DULUTH, Minn.- The 2024-2025 UMD hockey season is officially in the books.
And what a year it was for the women’s squad.
A 22-15-2 overall record, which included their 5th straight and 16th overall national tournament appearance.
There was also some breakout performances from forward Caitlin Kraemer and goaltender Eve Gascon, who both came away with some WCHA hardware.
Head Coach Laura Schuler took some time on Wednesday to reflect on her 1st year at the helm, adding she was very pleased with how her team played this season.
“Honestly, I think it was one of the most fun years that I’ve ever had in hockey. Obviously, we fell a week short of what we wanted to do. But I couldn’t be more proud of everybody, our entire program and everything that they did in order to get us where we got to,” said Schuler.
UMD is set to lose nine seniors this off-season. That list includes forwards Olivia Wallin, Olivia Mobley, Clara Van Wieren plus defender Nina Jobst-Smith.
