Prep Boys Basketball: Jordan Christianson & Phillip Homere Earned Coach of the Year Honors

DULUTH, Minn.- The prep boys basketball state tournament wrapped up over the weekend.
With the season’s conclusion, two local head coaches earned end-of-the-year honors.
Cherry basketball head coach Jordan Christianson was named the section 7A coach of the year by the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association.
Christianson and the Tigers earned their fourth consecutive section 7A title and made it to the class A state title game, where they fell 81 to 74 to Dawson-Boyd.
The class A state runner-up finished the season 31-and-2.
In class AAA, Duluth Denfeld’s head coach, Phillip Homere, was named the section 7 AAA coach of the year.
The Hunters earned their first section 7 AAA title since 2004.
Sending the Hunters to the state tournament for the first time in 21 years.
Denfeld finished the season 20-and-11.
