Chum Hopes to Reach March Food Drive Goal

DULUTH, Minn. — With less than a week left, Chum is looking to meet its goal for Minnesota’s March FoodShare Campaign.

Chum is around halfway to its goal of filling the food shelf with 40,000lbs of non-perishable food items, as well as raising an additional $80,000 to purchase additional food.

The March FoodShare is Chum’s biggest food drive of the year, supporting individuals and families in need.

The amount of people Chum’s Food Shelf supports keeps increasing each year, so the food drive is crucial.

Many local organizations and community members have donated to the drive.

“We’ve had an amazing outreach so far with churches, and schools. We had a 15 year old that came here, started his own non-profit, he came with a little over $600 going door to door and with 500lbs of food that he donated,” April LeDoux, Chum Director of Distributive Services said.

If you want to donate to the drive you can drop off food at Chum or any participating food drop-off location, you can also give online, or host a collection drive in your neighborhood.
