Duluth Antique Marketplace Expands to Cloquet

CLOQUET, Minn.– The popular Duluth Antique Marketplace recently expanded to Cloquet, and today the community celebrated its opening day!

After opening their first location in Duluth 8 years ago, the owner has been hoping to expand.

The expansion only took a short two months.

Owner Joanne Leland telling us, customers eagerly waited in their cars this morning before the doors opened.

The Cloquet Antique Marketplace sells items such as home decor, vinyl records, and other trinkets.

Being able to offer a new shop setting for the antiques is very exciting for the owner.

“I wanted to get into some other little towns that were outlined from Duluth. Our Duluth store is a much bigger store, it’s got two floors. And I wanted to go into something with more “boutique-y” type of style. Which this one is,” said Joanne Leland, owner of both Antique Marketplace locations.

And for some of the locals checking out the new shop, they’re thankful they don’t need to travel far for some treasure hunting.

“I would say that we like to antique just around here because it’s just small town figuring out like what everyone else’s style is. And just supporting small businesses, and just kind of like working in the trades. It’s fun and seems like a treasure hunt all the time,” said Kayce Gielski, a shopper at the Cloquet Antique Marketplace.

If you have any items you’re wanting to send to a new home, the shop is able to buy antiques from anyone interested.

The Cloquet Antique Marketplace is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM.
