Two Residences Displaced After Fire on Piedmont Avenue

DULUTH, Minn. — A fire on Duluth’s Piedmont Ave. displaced two residents on Sunday night.

The Duluth Fire Department responded to the call around 8:59 p.m. Sunday night. Upon arrival, fire crews arrived to find a visible smoke coming from the second floor of a commercial space with an  apartment above it.

The tenants in the apartment safely self-evacuated with no injuries reported. Two residents were displaced.

Damages to the structure were estimated at $80,000.

The fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshall.

The Duluth Police Department, Minnesota Power, and Saint Louis County 911 dispatch all aided the Duluth Fire Department in their response.
