Denfeld Robotics makes it to World Championships
DULUTH, Minn — Denfeld Nation Automation, the robotics team at Denfeld, has qualified for the world championships.
The next step: getting ready for it.
They are looking to raise $47,000 to cover the cost of the trip
It’s been a flurry of fundraising from asking businesses to sponsor them, posting to social media, and creating a Give MN page.
The team has also been redesigning their robot for the big day.
“It was kind of a surprise. As soon as we got back from our second competition, we kind of didn’t think that we were going to make it. And then just a couple weeks ago, about a week ago now, actually, we were at the top of the list of teams that were going to be pulled to go to the event. So just a week ago, we started fundraising like crazy, because we have to raise $47,000 to go. We started redesigning parts of our robot, and it’s just been a lot of work, but a lot of fun.” said Piper Hamilton, Mechanical Lead and Junior Captain.
The world championships are being held in Houston, Texas.
