Students Learn Life Saving Skills at Red Cross Day
SUPERIOR, Wisc. — It’s Red Cross Day once again at the University of Wisconsin Superior!
This event happens each semester.
Students get a chance to learn hands-only CPR.
What’s new is students could also learn to administer Narcan.
This training gives people a chance to save lives.
“It’s important for healthcare workers like Josh and myself as nursing students to know how to do that kind of stuff, because in the hospital setting, you’re going to see it a lot. But unfortunately, we, we live in a world where things happen, and even here in today, in this the student center here, we could have someone collapse, and they would need CPR. So if we educate and get those resources and materials and those skills out to everyone, as many people as possible, we can save more lives that way.” said Fritz Kramer, a Volunteer for Red Cross.
Amnesty International also hosted their refugee for exhibit.
This semester’s exhibit focused on going from Afghanistan to Germany.
These events are open to the public.
The next one will be in November.
