‘Library Passport Program’ Returns to Northern Wisconsin
SUPERIOR, Wis. — More than 30 Libraries across Wisconsin are partnering up again in a special challenge to promote each other.
It’s called the ‘Northern Waters Library passport program.’ The goal is to encourage people to visit as many northern Wisconsin libraries as possible this summer.
At each location, library-goers will receive a stamp. Once a person reaches ten locations, they’ll be entered in a prize drawing.
Organizers told Fox21, the passport program is also about getting people to explore other parts of Wisconsin.
“There’s just so many awesome libraries in northern Wisconsin, sometimes they fly under the radar,” said Leslie Mehle, the programming & partnerships manager at Superior Public Library. “So this is just a really nice way for people to get out and see, you know Cable is a log cabin library, the library in Mercer has the head of the original ‘Smokey the Bear’ costume. There’s all sorts of unique features like that.”
The hunt for the libraries has just begun. You can pick up a free passport at any of the libraries, including the Superior Public Library.
The program runs through September 2nd.
