Superior Fire Department Holds Swearing In & Awards Ceremony
SUPERIOR, Wis.– There were lots to celebrate and recognize today at the Superior Fire Department for the swearing in and awards ceremony.
The Superior Fire Hall welcomed friends and family to celebrate accomplishments from their loved ones.
The ceremony swore in four new firefighters to join the Superior Fire Department team.
It also acknowledged promotions to the Captain, Assistant Fire Inspector, and Motor Pump Operatior positions.
But members of the Superior Fire Department weren’t the only ones celebrated today.
One civilian was awarded for his life saving efforts.
“Kind of surreal. I mean it just felt like something I was supposed to do. I never felt like it was anything, you know extraordinary,” explained Jeff Cline, the recipient of the ‘Mary Ann Katzmark Civilian Award’. “I’m surrounded by people who care for the community and do a lot for the communities. And doing stuff like that, it’s normal. So, I see him, he came down like three days later and thanked me. So, it was pretty cool.”
At this ceremony, Cline got the opportunity to meet the dispatcher that assisted him during his heroic actions.
