“Purple Up” Day Highlights Children of Military Families

Children of military families in Minnesota are being recognized this month for their sacrifices to our country.

Organizations like Duluth’s 148th Fighter Wing, the American Red Cross, and even the UMD Bulldogs took part Friday evening in “purple up” day to celebrate local kids from military families.

It’s part of the “month of the military child” as it is known across the national’s military branches.

Organizers say it’s a way to lift up military children while connecting with other military families experiencing a common bond.
