No foul play is suspected and next of kin has been notified.

In the announcement the Duluth Police Department said, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Monroe family and friends as they are grieving her loss.”

The investigation into her death is still active.

Authorities were searching the waters near Rice’s Point for Monroe.

Rice’s Point is a public boat launch and fishing area on Port Terminal Dr, that sits under the Blatnik Bridge.

Authorities say Monroe’s phone was last ‘pinged’ near that area around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.

During the search FOX 21 spoke with St. Louis County Rescue Squad Captain Rick Slatten, who described the ongoing search efforts, “we’re conducting search operations here with, ground teams, drones, side scan sonar, canines, and our ROV mini submarines.”
