Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” world tour kicked off its U.S. leg at Duluth’s AMSOIL Arena.

The Grammy-nominated comedian’s performance surpassed the previous attendance record held by music legend Elton John.

John’s show “Greatest Hits Live” tour attracted 7,600 fans when the venue was still relatively new in 2011.

Bargatze’s tour doesn’t come back to the area until his series of shows in St. Paul on July 26 and 27.

He’s known for his clean and relatable comedy for all age groups including his Netflix specials “The Tennessee Kid”, “Greatest Average American” and “The Stand-ups”.

His latest special “Hello, World” can be found on Amazon Prime Video.
