Hazing Investigation At Superior High School

UPDATE: The Wisconsin Dells Police Chief tells FOX 21 that his agency is investigating an “incident involving juveniles” that was referred to them by the Superior Police Department, but did not confirm the incident was regarding the Superior High School boys lacrosse team.


SUPERIOR, Wis. – FOX 21 has received tips about possible hazing regarding the Superior High School boys lacrosse team.

District Administrator Amy Starzecki tells FOX 21 the district was made aware of an “alleged hazing incident involving members of the high school boy’s lacrosse team that reportedly occurred during an out-of-town event.”

Starzecki continued to say, “In accordance with district policy, we immediately notified law enforcement and launched our own thorough investigation.  The School District of Superior is committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all students. Hazing has no place in our school community, and we will not tolerate any behavior that puts our students at risk.”

Starzecki said the district would not provide more information at this time.

The Superior Police Department confirmed in a news release that they “became aware of a reported hazing incident by members of the boys Superior High School lacrosse team.”

The Police Department say they were made aware of incident by school officials who were told it took place while the team was at an out of town sporting event.

The Superior Police Department immediately contacted the police agency of jurisdiction.

An investigation was launched by that agency, and the Superior Police Department has been assisting them in their efforts.

This incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
