Sheriff: 40-Plus Structures Destroyed In ‘Camp House’ Fire Near Brimson
As Tuesday morning, there were no reports of injuries of fatalities in the three active wildfires in St. Louis County.
CAMP HOUSE FIRE:
One day after a massive wildfire erupted near Brimson, officials reported Monday night that at least 40 structures had been destroyed by the Camp House wildfire.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office made that announcement about the losses in a news release around 10:30 p.m.
The Camp House fire grew to more than 1,250 acres Monday.
There have been no reports of any injuries or deaths from this fire.
“The evacuation order is still in effect and will be reevaluated on May 13th. Hwy 44 remains closed to all traffic from Hugo’s bar North to Townline Road, as the fire is still active,” the Sheriff’s Office said late Monday.

JENKINS CREEK FIRE:
The Jenkins Creek wildfire was also burning out of control Monday evening just to the northeast of the Camp House fire.
At last report Tuesday, officials estimated the fire to be 6,000 acres.
The fire started Monday west of Cadotte Lake and about 14 miles southeast of Hoyt lakes.
Residents in the line of fire have been told to evacuate to the Friedenberg Township Community Center.
A cause of the fire is under investigation.
No injuries or deaths have been reported with this fire, as of Monday night.
MUNGER SHAW FIRE:
The Munger Shaw wildfire also ignited Monday as a third significant wildfire in St. Louis County since Sunday.
It, too, was burning out of control Monday night with at least 1,300 acres burned.
The fire is located in Cotton Township and was burning along Munger Shaw Road about 25 miles southeast of Brimson.
People in this area who are evacuated are asked to go to the Cotton Town Hall for further assistance.
There were no reports of injuries or deaths with this fire, as of Monday night.
The cause is also under investigation.
All three fires had zero percent containment Monday night.
