80 Wildfires Around Minnesota
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Interagency Fire Center in a news release says since Sunday (May 11), firefighters have responded to approximately 80 wildfires throughout Minnesota.
Three big wildfires are burning in Northeast Minnesota.
As of Tuesday morning the information on the fires include:
Camp House Fire
- Developed May 11, 2025.
- Currently 11,778 acres and 0% contained.
- The MNICS Incident Management Team C is coordinating firefighting efforts and resources.
- Aircraft will continue to provide suppression support throughout the day.
Jenkins Creek Fire
- Developed May 12, 2025.
- Currently 6,800 acres and 0% contained.
- The MNICS Incident Management Team A is coordinating firefighting efforts and resources.
- Numerous aircraft helped with suppression efforts yesterday. Aircraft will continue to provide suppression support throughout the day today.
Munger Shaw Fire
- Developed May 12, 2025.
- Currently 1,400 areas and 0% contained.
- Firefighters and multiple aircraft responded to the Munger Shaw wildfire yesterday and will continue full suppression efforts today.
The public is asked to avoid the areas around these fires for their safety and the safety of fire personnel.
Temporary flight restrictions are in place. No drones are allowed near any of the fire areas.
The Eastern Area Complex Incident Management Team will assume management of the Camp House and Jenkins Creek fires the morning of Wednesday, May 14.
The complex incident management team has greater access to regional and national firefighting resources.
