David Clanaugh Announces Candidacy for Duluth City Council District 4
DULUTH, Minn. — David Clanaugh Announced his candidacy for the district 4 seat of Duluth City Council.
His goals are community driven, believing that district representatives need to really know the neighborhoods they represent. Those goals are grounded in his experience.
He has had many positions in community supportive roles such as Executive Director for the regional Habitat For Humanity.
In his press release Clanaugh stated, “A district councilor needs to be plugged into the community and willing to take it to the city, and if it can’t be fixed there, fix the city so it does.”
“We got a lot of hard-working folks in city government, but we also have struggles housing, streets and infrastructure, if people are struggling to get to work, if they’re struggling to find affordable, decent housing, that’s a problem, and it’s for me, it’s a personal problem, because that’s my background. I’m no stranger to struggle to scarcity and vulnerability, and I’ve spent a good chunk of my life working with folks who know what that’s all about, and who know how to work together to solve challenges” said David Clanaugh, candidate for Duluth City Council District 4.
Some specific examples of his priorities are requiring affordable units when developers propose new builds for the rich, and providing better support and maintenance of city parks and community centers, and fixing streets.
