Filing Opens for Duluth City Council Race
DULUTH, Minn. — Tuesday, May 20, was the first official day that Duluth City Council candidates can file for elections. Candidates have until June 8th to officially cast their bid into the race.
To run for Duluth City Council you must be a registered voter, be at least 21-years-old, and reside in their district for at least 30-days prior to the general election. The election is scheduled for November 4th.
Duluth City Council At-Large
Incumbent Terese Tomanek is looking to be reelected into her At-Large seat, with challengers Jordon Johnson and Derek Medved also announcing their plans to run for the open At-Large seat.
Incumbent Azrin Awal announced last week that she is not running for reelection. There are 2 seats available for Duluth City Council At-Large.
Duluth City Council District 2
Diane Desotelle announced she’s running for Duluth City Council District 2, she is currently running unopposed.
Incumbent Mike Mayou announced in April that he is not running for reelection.
Duluth City Council District 4
Incumbent Tara Swenson is looking to be reelected into her District 4 seat. Swenson is running against Brandon Parker and David Clanaugh.
